In Live Lean Life Vlog Ep. 046 I share:

We Are Getting Rid Of Our Car

Good morning, welcome back to another vlog.

It’s going to be a great day as I’m taking you to work with me to show you around my new office.

Then later on we’re going for one last Costco grocery haul to stock the fridge.

This isn’t our last grocery haul, however it’s the last Costco grocery haul, since we’re getting rid of our car tomorrow, and we’re not getting a new one.

That’s right, we plan on living the “no car life” since we don’t need a car while living in downtown San Diego.

Actually, I shouldn’t even say it’s our last ever grocery haul at Costco because fortunately, Jessica’s parents have a condo across the street.

Whenever we need to go to Costco, we’re going to go with them to do a grocery haul.

So to clarify, since I know you like seeing Costco grocery hauls, you’re still going to see them every once in a while.

It’s now time to go to say goodbye to Jessica and Kyla and take you with me to the office.

Here’s Why We Don’t Need A Car Anymore

Since we live in downtown San Diego, we have a grocery store across the street, plus my office, gym, and restaurants are all in walking distance.

Everything we need access to is downtown, plus the in-law parents across the street have a car.

This is why we have decided to not have a car.

Honestly, it just feels good to not own a car.

I’m not a very materialistic person.

In fact, I’m more of a minimalist, except for when it comes to sneakers.

I love my sneakers.

Another benefit of not having a car is you get to walk more, which makes it easier to hit your 10,000 daily steps, and it’s better for the environment.

The Ultimate Guide On How To Walk 10,000 Steps A Day

This is just another reason why I love the city life.

Plus, let’s be real, not having a car saves money since you eliminate all:

  • Car expenses
  • Car insurance
  • Gas

To us, it’s just the way to go.

Live Lean Office Tour

Let me show you around the Live Lean office.

My office is approximately a 10 minute walk from my condo, so we have a beautiful views of San Diego.

The building is owned by WeWork, so it includes co-working spaces for different companies to rent out.

I have a private one person office that fits my stand desk, computer, and microphone.

While I’m working I also have a padded floor mat to stand on, a chair, and a filing cabinet where I can display my books, Awaken The Abs Within and Think And Live Lean, and my YouTube plaque.

I even have a doggy bed in the corner when Bruno comes to hang out with me at the office.

Everything I need is right here.

In the common area of the office I have access to a printer and fax machine, as well as a kitchen with a fridge to store our food and desks to eat at.

I also get access to free coffee, and some of the best cucumber lemon water, and beer.

Today’s beer on tap is Mission Blonde.

There are also boardrooms when I have people come in for meetings.

Overall, WeWork offers a pretty decent spot to work from.

It’s like a pretty cool incubator for entrepreneurs to come together and network.

Not bad at all.

Hiring New Live Lean Employees

Live Lean TV is growing, so I plan on bringing on some new employees.

If they are from San Diego, they will be coming in here to with us.

Or if they’re from out of town, they will work virtually, and communicate via email and FaceTime.

In this vlog called A Day In The Life Of Working For Live Lean TV, I talked about growing our business, and bringing on some video editor interns.

A Day In The Life Of Working For Live Lean TV

We’re also bringing on Live Lean coaches to help grow our one on one coaching platform.

Jessica currently leads the coaching program, however since we’re getting so many new clients coming on board and getting great results, she’s very busy and needs help expanding the team.

Therefore, we’re in the process of bringing in some really good coaches as well.

Ultimately, business is going great and I’m loving the new lifestyle.

Now it’s all about managing the business growth and scaling it.

This success is all because of you helping us grow this platform, so we can reach out and help you with your goals.

As we continue to grow this Live Lean empire, we will be able to help you even more.

We’re Hiring Fitness Coaches

If you are a fitness coach and you want to take your one on one online coaching to the next level, reach out to us at this email.

If you are a good fit with our team, we can talk about bringing you on as a Live Lean coach.

Even though we’re very picky with who we bring on, if this sounds like it is a fit with you, email us.

We’re Hiring Video Interns

If you want to help out the Live Lean Nation we’re looking for experienced video interns.

As a video intern, you can live anywhere in the world.

We’d send you clips from our Live Lean TV show and our workouts.

You would be responsible for editing them and sending them back to us via Dropbox.

This would also be a huge help to us and could eventually turn into a full time position.

However, in the beginning it would just be a part time internship.

Email us here and share some of your YouTube or Instagram videos that you have done in the past.

If it’s a good fit, maybe we will bring you on the team.

Costco Grocery Haul Contest

All right, I just got back from another Costco grocery haul.

I know you love seeing the foods and drinks we’re having, so let’s take a look at what we bought.

Since the last food haul contest was such a success, we’re going to run another contest.

clean bulk grocery haul at Costco

To enter, you have to tell me how much this grocery haul cost in US dollars, after tax.

So basically, whatever the bottom line on the receipt says.

Whoever comes closest is going to win a copy of my Live Lean Cookbook.

Alright, let’s do this.

Costco Grocery Haul

What is the shocking first item?

Yeah, I had to go for a 36 pack of Coors Light beer.

I don’t drink beer very often, so I was really debating if we needed that much beer.

However, when I’m watching sports on TV or I come home from a long day’s work, I like to have a cold one.

Enjoying a beer once in a while is not going to do much harm to you.

Plus a 36 pack of Coors Light was so cheap.

Healthy Costco Grocery Haul

Here’s The Full Healthy Costco Grocery Haul:

  • Coors Light beer
    • 36 pack of cans
  • Organic baby spinach
  • Seasoned Tri Tip
  • Grapes
    • I like to take the stems off and freeze them.
    • I find frozen grapes are a really good healthy snack when you have a craving for something unhealthy.
    • Since they are cold, you also eat them a lot slower than when they’re fresh.
    • Put a serving size of grapes in a freezer baggie, then put in your freezer and you’re good to go.
  • 48 large organic eggs
  • Kirkland seasoned rotisserie chicken
    • Some people have been asking about our thoughts on the Costco rotisserie chicken.
    • This is something we get when we’re kind of hungry and we want something quick.
    • Even though it’s very delicious, it’s not the best type of chicken meat because it’s not organic, but it’s all good.
  • 9 x 1 liter boxes of Zico coconut water.
  • Raw organic sauerkraut
  • Organic brussels sprouts
    • I don’t understand why so many people do not like brussels sprouts or why, over the years, they have got such a bad name for being a really gross food.
    • They are so simple to make: boil them in hot water, then put some salt and pepper and coconut oil on them. Delicious.
  • Bitchin’ Sauce Chipotle style
    • I’m not sure if this is available all across the U. S., but I think it’s famous in San Diego for being really good.
    • It’s made of almonds.
    • It’s a really decent option when you’re looking for something healthy to dip your vegetables in.
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Big bag of onions
    • Onions make all kinds of foods taste better.
  • Lemons
  • Foster Farms organic frozen chicken breasts
    • I go with frozen chicken breasts because whenever I buy fresh chicken, I always end up freezing it because I buy it in bulk.
    • Since I’m buying in bulk, why not just buy it frozen, since it’s organic and a little bit cheaper as well.
  • Big bag of walnuts
  • 2 pack of Cholula hot sauce
    • I’ve never had this before, but I’ve been hearing a lot of good stuff about it.
    • I’m usually a sriracha guy, but I thought I’d give Cholula hot sauce a try.
  • Big tub of organic virgin coconut oil
  • 4 cans of Wild Planet albacore wild tuna
    • This is a higher end tuna.
    • When you look at the ingredients, it only contains albacore tuna and sea salt.
    • You have to love that.
  • Frozen organic blueberries
  • Frozen organic strawberries
  • Salted pistachios
    • This is another good healthy snack food to have.
    • You have to crack the shell before you put it in your mouth, so it takes a little bit more time to eat it, thus you’re less likely to overeat them.
    • This is important since nuts are very calorie dense.
  • Macadamia nuts
    • These are my favorite nuts.
  • 2 pack of Kirkland grape juice
  • 2 pack of Kirkland salsa
  • Organic guacamole cups
    • I love these little mini whole guacamole cups.
    • They are 100 calorie cups so you don’t overdo it.
  • 3 pack of organic ground beef
  • Sliced almonds that are all ready to go
  • 2 pack of organic ground turkey
    • This is 2 pounds in case you are calculating costs
  • 6 pack of vanilla almond milk
  • Bag of organic sweet potatoes

I think that is it.

Now it’s up to you.
