It’s Time To Go Grocery Shopping At Costco

It’s time to pick up some food at Costco.

I ended up spending a lot of money on groceries at Costco because we had to refill everything in our kitchen.

Our fridge and kitchen is empty, which is not good because I’m in a muscle building phase right now.

When you’re in a muscle building phase, you have to eat.

Plus, Jessica and I are on a clean bulk right now, because both of us need to gain muscle.

In addition to putting the work in at the gym, you also have to put in the work at the grocery store when it comes to building muscle.

Side Note: If you think the lines inside Costco are crazy, the lines at the Costco gas station take the magnitude of craziness to a whole new level.

Is waiting in those gas lines really worth it to save a couple cents on gas?

I don’t know 🤷.

Here are a few reasons why I didn’t film the grocery haul in Costco this time:

  1. I didn’t want to carry the camera since I was picking up so much food.
  2. The busy crowds in Costco made it a freaking gong show.

I also found out our membership at Costco is expiring on March 31st and we’re debating if we’re going to renew it again.

Reason being, we may go get all of our groceries online.

We’re thinking of possible getting a combination of groceries from:

Hopefully that can do it.

Time is precious and time is money.

Honestly, I don’t have time to go shop at Costco and deal with all the lines.

By the time I leave home to the time I get back home, it seems like it’s taking 3 hours.

Muscle Building Tip To Add More Healthy Calories To Your Diet

Once again, I’m in muscle building zone.

Jessica’s also in a muscle building zone, and says her booty needs to grow.

Let’s not forget, Kyla is also in growing mode, so our whole family is trying to make gains.

Before we go through what a clean bulk looks like, here’s a muscle building tip for you.

When you’re looking to gain mass, you have to increase your calories in a healthy and clean way.

One way to add more calories is when you’re making your smoothies, add a liquid that has calories in it.

In other words, a liquid that is not water.

An example of this is grape juice.

When it comes to a muscle building post workout shake, 100% grape juice is a good higher sugar and calorie option.

Jessica really likes mixing grape juice with chocolate whey protein powder (use 25% off coupon code: LiveLeanTV25).

It may sound weird, but try it.

It’s not bad.

Here a peanut butter and jelly style protein shake recipe that use grape juice.

I also use coconut water after my sweaty workouts and add it to smoothies.

Clean Muscle Building Grocery Haul At Costco

Here’s a list of all the food from our clean muscle building grocery haul at Costco.

All these ingredients are health foods that you can eat all year round.

However, since we are on a clean bulk, we will be eating more of them to get more calories.

  1. Unsweetened almond milk
    • Since unsweetened almond milk only has 30 calories, it is not the highest calorie liquid you can.
    • However, it is a liquid with the least sugar, so it helps.
    • It also gives the smoothies a more creamy texture.
  2. Newman’s Own 100% grape juice
  3. Coconut water
  4. Dates
  5. Organic eggs
  6. Avocados
    • I typically don’t buy avocados at Costco because they are never ripe enough on time, then all of sudden they become too ripe.
  7. Organic spinach
  8. Organic guacamole
    • These portioned 100 calorie cup serving sizes are great so you don’t over consume it.
  9. Cherry tomatoes
  10. Bell peppers
  11. Organic ground turkey
  12. Seasoned tri tip
  13. Kirkland organic ground beef
  14. Kirkland turkey breast
    • Since this is already cooked, it’s so quick and easy to slice it up.
  15. Egg whites
    • I don’t typically eat or promote egg whites, however I do love one recipe called Noatmeal, that uses egg whites in my muscle building cookbook.
    • You can also add pasteurized egg whites to smoothies.
    • If you have an intolerance to whey protein or just dairy in general, you can try adding egg whites to your protein shakes.
    • Since it’s pasteurized, you can eat it or drink it right out of the carton.
  16. Pecans
  17. Organic hemp seeds
  18. Organic cauliflower rice
    • It’s so awesome that Costco sells this now.
  19. Macadamia Nuts
    • These are my favorite nuts of all time.
    • If you guys ever see me on the street and you want to get me something, I would appreciate it if you just slip me some macadamia nuts.
    • 😂 “slip me the nuts”: Don’t do that, that sounds creepy.
  20. Grey poupon dijon mustard
  21. Bitchin’ sauce
    • I think this might only be available in California, but it’s so good.
    • Jessica turned me on to that.
    • It’s a really clean and tasty recipe.
    • It makes anything you’re eating taste bomb.
    • It’s one of the few types of premade sauces that we actually like and is Live Lean approved.
    • We don’t usually buy salad dressing, but this is a really good sauce.
  22. Avocado oil
  23. Sweet potatoes
    • Sweet potatoes are one of my favorite sources of complex carbohydrates.
  24. Salsa
    • This is one of my favorite low calorie sauces.
    • Even though I’m trying to get higher calorie foods in, there are still certain foods I’m trying to stay away from, since this is a clean lean bulk.
  25. Marinara sauce
  26. Frozen organic strawberries
  27. Frozen organic blueberries
  28. Frozen organic pineapples
  29. Frozen three berry blend: blueberries, strawberries, blackberries
    • I bought a lot of frozen fruit for smoothies because that’s another quick way to get extra calories in.
  30. Frozen organic normandy vegetables
    • This is a mixture of broccoli, cauliflower, orange and yellow carrots.
    • As I mentioned in this grocery haul, frozen vegetables is an easy way to get your vegetables in.
  31. Red onions
  32. Garlic
  33. Organic carrots
  34. Red seedless grapes
    • I tend to eat so many grapes in a sitting, when they are fresh.
    • To slow down my consumption of grapes, I like to remove the grapes from the stems, then put them in a freezer baggie, then freeze the grapes in the freezer.
    • Then I snack on the frozen grapes, which tastes really good and helps me eat them slower.

That’s our latest clean bulk muscle building grocery haul from Costco.
