Do We Ever Make Our Own Salsa And Hot Sauces?

On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, we’re sharing a homemade healthy salsa recipe and our favorite hot sauce brand.

Today’s viewer question is from #AskLiveLeanTV Ep. 020.

Here’s today’s viewer question:

Ciscoballs from Snapchat says:

Top salsas and hot sauces for each of you. Also, ever bottle or can your own creations?

Our Favorite Hot Sauce Brand And Homemade Salsa Recipe

Brad: I usually buy salsa from Costco, however I always look at the ingredients in salsa.

There are some salsas that have canola oil or soybean oil, and sugar added into it.

When you’re buying salsa, always look at the ingredients.

The salsa that I buy from Costco is an organic one, and only contains all natural whole foods.

When it comes to hot sauces I like sriracha.

I like using it on it’s own, but when it’s available, I also buy sriracha in mustard form.

I use the mustard sriracha all the time.

Jess: You use that all the time.

Brad: Since I use mustard on a lot of my food, if I’m putting mustard on it, I might as well have the sriracha in it already.

Jess: I’ve never made my own hot sauce, however I have made my own homemade salsa.

  3. Remove the skin from 1 clove of garlic, then throw the entire clove into the food processor.

I’ve also made my own tomato marinara sauce.

I’m not a real spicy food lover.

Brad: Yeah, I never used to be a spicy food lover, but then I started, and I love it now.

Jess: Yeah, you do use that sriracha mustard a lot.

I would say that your favorites are the same as mine.

Here’s why it’s important to ensure the ingredients are really clean on this stuff.

When you’re buying it frequently and regularly, and it’s in your diet all the time, that’s why it’s so important for it to contain little to no sugar or canola or soybean oil.

Brad: Yeah, that’s a good point.

Jess: However, when you’re eating out, don’t freak out about it.

You don’t have to be so particular about things when they’re once in a while.

But when it’s a staple in your diet, that’s when it matters.

Brad: Yeah.
