In a 2011 study from the journal of Nutrition and Cancer, Soy Milk was shown to stimulate the growth rate of prostate and breast cancer by 30%. Soy is also a highly genetically modified food and is one of the highest pesticide sprayed foods.
If that’s not bad enough, check this out, researchers have shown that Soy can affect the hormonal balance of both men and women in opposite ways. Women can be at risk for higher testosterone, increased risk of breast cancer, and fat storage, while men are at risk for higher estrogen, thus leading to lower testosterone.

This is because soy contains phyto-estrogens which mimic estrogen in the body, the same way as BPAs do.
It’s not looking good for you Soy Milk.
Derived from the nut, Mr. Almond. We all know by now the health benefits associated with almonds. But did you know in that same 2011 study in the journal of Nutrition and Cancer, they found almond milk suppressed the growth of prostate cancer by more than 30%?
Almond milk is also high in vitamin E and minerals like the antioxidant selenium, as well as calcium, iron, and many other healthy minerals. Nice!
But, if you’re buying almond milk from the grocery store, make sure you buy the unsweetened version. Sweetened versions can be filled with fattening sugar.
And even better, if you have a high quality blender, you can make your own homemade almond milk which is the better option than store bought almond milk. But for the occasional smoothie, unsweetened store bought brands are fine.
So with all that said, the clear winner of this Food Wars battle is Almond Milk. Soy milk…into the garbage you go.
