How To Make An Easy Poached Egg Recipe

Quick fat burning breakfast recipe

On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m showing you how to make an easy poached egg recipe.

You’re going to love this quick fat burning breakfast recipe from Brad’s Cookbook.

You may be wondering, why am I sharing another breakfast recipe?

How To Make An Easy Poached Egg Recipe

Well, based on your questions, it seems most people are having issues coming up with healthy breakfast recipes.

In particular, quick fat burning breakfast recipes that you can fit into your busy mornings.

Just say no to cereal

I hope by now you realize boxed cereals are not a healthy breakfast option to Live Lean.

Most people fall into this trap because cereal is a quick and easy breakfast option.

Also lets be real, some people enjoy the taste of the sugar rush.

Unfortunately this quick surge of sugar is throwing your body’s hormones off, which causes spikes in your blood sugar levels, and increased cravings throughout the day.

Now if you’re saying to yourself, “but the box says it’s high in whole grains and contains vitamins and minerals”.

Sure that may sound good, but it’s not.

Unlike what the government may tell you, your body’s digestive system was not created to digest excessive amounts of refined whole grains.

Plus the vitamins and minerals added to a lot of these cereals are synthetic, meaning they are not natural.

Unfortunately your body may only absorb a small amount of these synthetic vitamins.

So with all that said…

What if I told you you could have a quick fat burning breakfast that is:

  • comprised of only real whole foods
  • high in muscle building protein
  • a good source of healthy fat
  • high in fiber
  • a good source of vitamins and minerals

If you have a sweet tooth, you can’t go wrong with a delicious side of fruit that is high fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

Well this high protein breakfast recipe has all of that, plus it is very quick and simple to make.

This breakfast of champions only requires the following essential ingredients:

Plus, to save time, you can also buy the mixed berries pre-chopped and mixed, or simply buy them individually.

Then simply add a small handful of nuts, like almonds, to the plate.

How to poach eggs

The only thing you really need to prepare is poaching the eggs.

Poaching eggs is one of the healthiest ways to cook eggs since the steam, rather than direct heat from the pan, does all the cooking.

In the cooking video, I’m using an egg poacher set that my mom bought me.

Thanks mom.

This set has four egg poacher cups for you to add the eggs.

So if you have an egg poacher set, lets put it to work.

However, if you don’t have an egg poacher set at home, follow this alternative egg poaching method that I used in this Instagram video.

Instructions
  1. Quickly spray each egg poacher cup with non stick avocado oil cooking spray. This helps ensure the eggs don't stick to the cup. Once the eggs are cooked, they should slide right out of the cup.
  2. Remove the top from the egg poacher set and add 2 inches of water to the base of the pan.
  3. Place the egg poacher cups back on top, then crack 1 egg into each cup.
  4. Once you have all the eggs in the cups, cover the pan, boil the water, and allow the eggs to cook for approximately 5-6 minutes or until they are cooked to your preference.
  5. While the eggs are poaching, get the 2 tbsp of almonds and 1 cup of mixed berries ready.
  6. Once the eggs are poached, remove the pan from the heat, then with an oven mitt and fork, carefully remove the cups from the egg poaching set. Be careful as it's very hot. Once removed, flip the cup over to slide each poached egg onto your plate.
  7. Add the 2 tbsp of almonds to a plate, then add 1 cup of mixed berries (1/3 cup of strawberries, 1/3 cup of raspberries, and 1/3 cup of blueberries) in a bowl for color.
  8. Enjoy.

    1. Yeah I’ve heard all the buzz about this. But with any study, you have to look at sample/subjects chosen for the study and the variables. I’m still a huge fan of the yolks!

  1. I eat breakfast EVERY day; don’t know how people get through their morning without it!
I am an oats girl; cooked, steel-cut or overnight. Served with fresh fruit, a few nuts and maybe a bit of greek yogurt. YUM! Off to have some right now!
