Come Hang Out With Me For A Day In Los Angeles

On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m sharing a day in my life in Santa Monica vlog.

I’ve been traveling a lot lately.

Although I love traveling, especially to Los Angeles, I also love my regular routine.

how to stay healthy while traveling on vacation

This regular routine is pretty much structured with “WWERx”:

  • Work
  • Workout
  • Eat
  • Repeat

So when I’m on the road, although I still do well, but my diet gets a little less clean.

Finding the chance to workout also becomes more challenging.

However, I still make the best out of it.

A Day In My Life In Santa Monica

In this video, you’ll see that even though I didn’t have access to a gym, I still got an awesome workout in by using my surroundings at the stairs and beach.

No excuses people.

Wherever you are, Living Lean is possible.

First Stop: Santa Monica Stairs Workout

To start the day, we wanted to get in a Santa Monica stairs sprint workout, but we drove to the wrong location.

When I googled “Santa Monica Stairs” for directions, multiple locations came up.

Once we arrived, I knew after our first set, that we were at the wrong set of stairs, since the famous Santa Monica stairs are supposed to be wood, not cement.

Also, the famous Santa Monica stairs has approximately 170 steps and this set of stairs had less.

Overall, these stairs seemed like more of a beginner version.

Rather than giving up, we walked back down the steps and left to go find the advanced set of Santa Monica stairs.

After googling directions to the other Santa Monica stairs, we found out we were a 7-10 minute drive away.

But even though we were a ways away, we didn’t give up on our stairs sprint workout.

Life lesson, it doesn’t always work out, but you have to keep trying.

Once we arrived at the new location, Jessica was skeptical, but I had a vibe and feeling that it was the right spot.

I was right.

Next Stop: Santa Monica Pier

After the stairs workout, we drove to the Santa Monica Pier to pick out our dream home on the beach, try on some goofy sunglasses, and watch a street performer balance a stick on her head.

Then we decided to do 3 jump burpee push ups on the pier, as a post stairs workout finisher.

You can’t beat living the lean lifestyle at Santa Monica beach.

Can We Re-Create The Magic?

So Jessica and I just wanted to re-create the first workout video that we ever did together.

We originally shot this workout 9 months ago, in February of 2013.

At the time, we knew each other for a total of 10 hours.

So in a sense, you could say this was our 9 month anniversary, as we’re now back in Los Angeles, as a couple.

Here’s how the re-creation of the original video went down.

Brad: You’re watching Live Lean TV, I’m Brad Gouthro.

As you can see, we are on the beautiful beach of Santa Monica and I am joined today by the beautiful, and talented, Jessica Rumbaugh.

We’re going to do a workout called, Can Brad Beat Up A Girl workout.

I think I said, beat up a girl?

Jess: I know I liked it.

Next Up: Rope Climbing And Acro Yoga

Living The Lean Lifestyle In LA

It was now time to act like a kid and put all of that pull up training to use.

There is a really cool piece of rope climbing equipment on Santa Monica beach.

So of course I had to try the rope climb.

I made it to the top, with a little wipe out on the landing.

Jessica also tried the rope climb, but only made it up half way, as she had a little fear of heights.

Lastly, we ended the trip with some front splits training to loosen up the muscle pain and tightness after the stair sprints.

While we were stretching a random guy asked Jessica if she wanted to do some acro yoga and “fly”.

Of course, she said yes.

This would only happen in Santa Monica 😂 .

Then I jumped in on the action by doing the Dirty Dancing “Time Of Your Life” move by shoulder pressing Jessica over my head.

Fun times.

    walking path that leads up into some mountains Called Griffith Park and
    Runyon
