Things Are Changing With My Daily Habits | Live Lean Life Ep. 034

On today’s day in the life vlog episode of Live Lean TV, I’m sharing a ridiculously delicious steak salad recipe and leg workout.

This is a day in the life of a fit new dad and entrepreneur.

In Live Lean Life Vlog Ep. 034 I share:

Changing Up My Morning Habits To Increase Focus

Welcome back to another day.

It’s bright and early here in San Diego.

People are heading to work, while I’m off to the gym.

I’m trying to switch up my morning habits a little bit, to get my day situated a little bit better.

To do this, I now want to get to the gym first thing in the morning.

Everything is about habits.

Habits, habits, habits.

So I want to talk to you guys a lot more about that.

I’m Moving Into A New Office

As I shared in the last vlog, I’m super focused on growing my business.

I actually just took out a lease on office space.

You have to do what you have to do to get focused.

One of my priorities for getting into an office is to get focused, and get everything else out of the way.

Based on this, workouts come first thing in the morning now.

Getting Back To The Fundamentals With My Early Morning Routine

I was typically getting up at 5:00 am, but to be 100% honest, I kind of fell off on that.

However, I’m getting back to getting up at 5:00 am.

Once I get up first thing in the morning, I will drink:

  1. Lemon water
  2. 2 glasses of water
  3. Coconut oil coffee

After that, I will basically hit the road and walk to the gym.

Not only am I getting in some early morning steps with my feet, I’m also going to get in my workout first thing in the morning, which I absolutely love doing.

However, the struggle before getting to the gym is actually getting situated and getting out the door in time.

I’m sure you guys know what it’s like.

Now that I have this office space, it’s kind of like I’m going back to my roots, where I was going into an office every day.

Therefore, I had to schedule everything around that.

It’s all about getting back to the fundamentals.

Should You Train Fasted With A Muscle Building Goal?

I’m training fasted today, which I actually do enjoy.

However, I’m in a stage right now where I’m looking to put some more weight on me, since I lost 10 lbs with my sickness.

If your goal is to gain muscle, typically you probably should eat before your workout to protect as much muscle as you can.

In addition to this, it also helps you increase your calorie consumption over the day.

Based on this theory, it’s another thing I have to work through since I’m now training first thing in the morning.

I know the answer, however just because you know the answer, you still have to execute on the answer.

Let’s get this going.

Today’s Leg Workout

Today’s leg workout consisted of the following exercises:

Post Workout Protein Shake And Meal

I’m back from training legs at the gym.

Now I’m getting my first meal into me.

I just made a protein shake, but I switched up the ingredients a little bit to change the flavors up.

I added the following ingredients to the protein shake:

Egg Omelet Live Lean TV

As my side meal, I made an omelet with:

  • 3 Whole Eggs
  • Arugula
  • Spinach
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Salsa
  • Side Of Cashews

I need to get this food into me, get showered up, and then off to the office.

After one bite, Jess said, “It’s incredible”.

This is absolutely another thumbs up for Sunbasket.

It’s pretty much just like a big ass salad that we normally make, however Sunbasket is killing it on the flavor profile.
