@FemkePointl on Twitter asks: what to do when you plateau in weight loss and muscle building?
The short answer is you have to change things up.
In other words, it comes down to is this.
Change what you are doing, if you need to see a change in what you’re seeing.
If you’ve been doing the same workout for a long time, then obviously you are going to eventually plateau.
That’s just the way the human body works.
You continue to see improvements, until you hit a certain point when the same workout doesn’t get you any further.
This could mean following a workout with:
There are so many training variables that can be changed in your workouts to break through plateaus.
If you’ve completed any of our Live Lean workout programs, you would see that we have different phases on purpose.
We design our programs with the intention of helping you avoid weight loss and muscle building plateaus.
Typically our training programs do not contain phases that include the same workout modalities for longer than 4-6 weeks.
A good example of this is our Live Lean Afterburn 2.0 program.

So when it comes to your workouts, that’s how you get through a plateau.
When it comes to breaking a plateau with your nutrition, it’s kind of the same thing.
For example, if you consistently follow a low calorie diet for a long time, your body is eventually going to adapt, stop what it’s doing, and plateau.
If this happens, that is when you have to give it a kick start by adding in more calories.
On occasion, you can also change up the types of foods you’re eating since your body may get used to the same things, over and over again.
Ultimately plateaus occur because a lot of people simply get stuck in their ways.
In other words, day in, day out, they stay in their comfort zone by continuously eating the same and training the same.
So try switching things up.
If you usually workout in the morning, try working out at night.
This simple change in routine may stir things up enough for you.
