Step Up Step Down

How To Do A Step Up Step Down Exercise Video Demonstration And Guide

The step up step down is a great exercise that primarily targets your quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and calves.

To get started:

  1. With your arms by your side, step up with one foot onto a solid platform, such as a bench or box, that is approximately 2 feet off the ground.
  2. Press this same foot through the bench to straighten your leg, while lifting the other leg up.
  3. To work on balance, don’t allow your other foot to make contact with the bench.
  4. Slowly lower your leg back to the starting position onto the ground.
  5. Complete all the reps with one leg, then switch legs and repeat.

To make the step up step down move more difficult:

  • Hold your arms parallel to the ground, straight in front of you.
  • Hold a pair of dumbbells to your side.
