On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m sharing the truth about my divorce story and how I’m overcoming the most difficult time in my life.
Since it’s Freestyle Friday, today I want to cover something that is beyond fitness and nutrition.
This will be my most challenging post yet, since I’m about to share something very personal to me.
It’s a struggle that I’m currently going through, and I need to get it off my chest.
This isn’t a struggle with my business, it’s a something I’m struggling with on a very personal level.
I’m here in Bermuda, not necessarily for work or vacation.
Life has definitely thrown me a nasty curve ball.
If you’re a member of my newsletter, you may have already figured it out.
Or, if you’ve been watching my Live Lean TV videos, you may have noticed something missing from my hand.
I might as well just say it.
Yes, I just become another statistic.
I’m going through a separation with my wife.
Ouch, that was tough for me to write.
This divorce has been the most challenging thing I’ve ever experienced in my life.
I have to admit, I never imagined in a million years that I’d be going through a divorce.
To put this into context, I was raised by two parents that love each other, and are still together today.
Growing up, all of my friend’s parents stayed together.
I remember when I was growing up, I was so excited to get married and fall in love with the love of my life.
So the idea that I’d be writing about my divorce story never crossed my mind.
It really pains me to even think about it now as it’s so hard to comprehend.
But I needed to get this off my chest.
The point of this post, is not to be a sob story, or to make you feel sorry for me.
As tough as it is, I’m staying positive throughout this challenging phase of my life.
So if you’re currently going through a divorce or other relationship issues, please understand that you are not alone.
Or if you’re struggling with personal issues like losing a job, stay positive, because this situation is only going to make you stronger.
I’m more determined now than ever to reach my goals both personally and professionally.
Because I’m on my own, so it’s now up to me.
But on the bright side, this divorce couldn’t be with anyone better.
This divorce will probably go down as the most positive separation in history, as we still have so much respect for each other.
I have nothing bad to say about her, and as far as I know, she has nothing bad to say about me.
We ultimately just let life get in the way, and we proceeded to live separate lives.
As cliche as it may sound, we basically fell out of love with each other.
But we’re both 100% in agreement that this divorce is the right thing for us.
I’m grateful for our memories and for having her in my life as a friend.
I always say, it’s all about your outlook and perception on life.
This divorce has made me more determined than ever to achieve my personal and professional goals.
I have no other option but to stay strong and keep moving forward.
So I’m going to cut it off right there, as it actually is starting to rain on me right now.
The energy of this weather is eerily very similar to the energy of this post.
But I’m doing my best to stay positive and strong throughout this difficult time.
Keep moving forward.
After this video went live on YouTube, I quickly realized how supportive everyone was.
