I also take a breath measurement about 45 minutes after my workout to see how intense it was for my body.

If it really was a high intensity workout, I should still be burning carbs, because cortisol spikes to cope with the stress of vigorous exercise, and that triggers carb burn.

Over time, this will move into fat burn.
