Live Lean Nation, on today’s exercise demonstration, I’m showing you how to do a dumbbell woodchopper.
The dumbbell woodchopper is a functional total body exercise that strengthens your core.
Watch the Dumbbell Woodchopper exercise demonstration video above.
To perform Dumbbell Woodchopper:
1. With a stance just outside shoulder width, grab a dumbbell with both hands, contract your abs, and raise the dumbbell over one shoulder with arms extended.
2. To lower the dumbbell, bend your knees, twist your torso, and explosively (while under control), with your arms straight, move your arms across your body down to the opposite foot. Do not round your back. Focus on maintaining a flat back. Think about chopping a tree with an axe.
3. Reverse the movement back to the original position.
4. Complete the reps on one side, then repeat with the other side.
