@BloodyKnucklesG on Twitter asks: Brad, I’m 487 pounds and morbidly obese. What is your advice on how to start losing fat quickly in first 7 days?

Great question.

I’m going to first throw this question over to our special guest Jeremy Reid from Jeremy Reid Fitness, since this fits perfectly with his background.

Jeremy Reid: I come from an obese background where I was well over 300 pounds, and morbidly obese.

During this time, I managed many eating disorders and addictions, before eventually turning my life around.

Now I’ve dedicated the better part of the last decade to helping people in the same situation that I was in.

I specialize in obesity and lifestyle coaching, along with the health and fitness aspect of it.

Therefore this question on how to start losing fat quickly in first 7 days when you are obese, is right up my alley.

So here is my best advice.

How To Start Losing Fat Quickly In First 7 Days When You’re Morbidly Obese

Jeremy Reid: The biggest thing you need to understand is you don’t become over 400 pounds because you accidentally stopped going to the gym for a couple weeks, or you just accidentally overate a couple times.

Your overall lifestyle needs to be looked at and massively revamped.

This weight loss journey is also not going to be a sprint, and you shouldn’t want it to be a sprint.

You have a long ways to go, and that’s okay because you can still enjoy the weight loss journey along the way.

To get started, you DO NOT have to:

Start identifying some of the massive areas in your lifestyle that you know are contributing to the way that you are right now.

Then let’s start working on those areas, one by one, even if that means simply getting off the couch and walking for 5-10 minutes a day.

Just a simple walk can drastically start burning body fat in the first week, like you’re asking for.

Again, it doesn’t have to be hardcore crossfit workouts or running marathons.

Just get up and start doing a little bit more than you’re doing today.

My 2 Cents On How To Start Losing Weight When Your Morbidly Obese

Brad: Jeremy is the expert on this obese weight loss, but if he wasn’t here, I would have said exactly the same thing.

If you’re morbidly obese, my best advice to get started losing weight is to just get out for walk.

Does Walking Burn Belly Fat?

This will get you started, it will get the momentum going, then you can progressively build from there.

Walking is your best friend when you are 487 pounds.

Just get your legs and body moving, however you can.

Jessica’s Best Advice On Losing Weight When You’re Morbidly Obese

Here’s one more tip.

Rather than just focusing on what you should start doing, you could also focus on a couple of things that you could stop doing.

Like Jeremy said, there are things in your life that are contributing to making this obesity problem worse.

If you can identify what those negative behaviors are, then you cut back on them slowly.

This doesn’t mean you have to go cold turkey, but if you’re having 12 sodas a day, maybe have 11, then 10, and so on.

Cut back gently so it’s not a major shock to your system.

This way you know you are going in the right direction, while stopping more weight from coming on.

Absolutely, get the momentum going.
