Live Lean Nation, on today’s exercise demonstration, I’m showing you how to do STANDING DUMBBELL CALF RAISE.
The Standing Dumbbell Calf Raise is a great way to target the calf muscles, especially the gastrocnemius which is targeted more when the knee is straight.
Watch the STANDING DUMBBELL CALF RAISE: exercise demonstration video above.
To perform STANDING DUMBBELL CALF RAISE:
1. Hold a pair of dumbbells down by your sides with a palms facing in grip while placing the balls of your feet on top of a sturdy object like a step or a 25 pound weight plate that is 2 inches high.
2. Press through the balls of your feet to rise up onto your toes as high as you can.
3. Pause to feel a good contraction in your calves, then slowly lower your heels back to the starting position to feel a good stretch while flexing your foot to contract the front of your calves.
4. Repeat for reps.
