Live Lean Nation, on today’s exercise demonstration, I’m showing you how to do barbell sumo deadlift.
The Barbell Sumo Deadlift is another variation of the traditional deadlift that uses a wider stance, thus the bar and weight does not need to travel as far. You’ll see this variation used in many powerlifting circles.
Watch the Barbell Sumo Deadlift : exercise demonstration video above.
To perform Barbell Sumo Deadlift :
1. With a very wide stance, keeping your chest up, push your hips back, bend your knees, and lower your body to grab the barbell with a grip inside the legs.
2. While maintaining a flat back, drive your feet through the floor and lift the bar by extending your hips and knees.
3. Reverse the movement to lower the bar back to the floor and repeat.
