Your Workout Schedule, Workout Split, And Rest Days Depends On This One Thing

Why You Should Follow A Workout Program Designed For Your Goals

On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, we’re talking about why you workout schedule, workout split, and rest days depends on this one thing.

Today’s viewer question is from #AskLiveLeanTV Ep. 016.

Here’s today’s viewer question:

kat on Snapchat says: What is your normal weekly workout schedule? How many days a week do you do legs, abs, chest, back, shoulders, etc.? How often should I be resting each muscle?

Let’s first answer your question regarding how often should you be resting each muscle group.

We always say it depends on your goal.

If your goal is fat loss, it’s going to be a different answer than if your goal is muscle building or strength building, or a performance based goal.

The answer will also be different if you are a beginner versus advanced.

If you’re wondering what our workout routine looks like, because you want to copy it, unfortunately it wouldn’t work for you if you were a beginner.

Since we are advanced, it would probably crush you because it would be too much training.

My Current Workout Schedule And Workout Split To Build Strength

At the time of this filming, I’ve been killing it while going through my Live Lean Strength based workout program.

A normal workout schedule for me is based off of that strength program.

The workout schedule is designed to have maximum intensity in the gym, then it’s about recovery.

The workout split is broken down into different body parts.

How Often Should You Be Resting?

Lastly, let’s answer your question on how often should you be resting?

Again, that depends on your goals.

In a strength based program like Live Lean Strength, you would have more scheduled rest days than you would if you’re following a fat loss program.

If you want a better answer, please get back to us with more detail on what results you want, i.e. your goal for training.

Find The Best Program For Your Goals

Rather than asking what we’re doing, tell us what you want to happen with your body.

Then we can be more specific with the answer of what would work best for you.

If you’re not sure what to do for your specific goals, find a workout program that caters to those goals.

That workout program will tell you exactly:

  • How many days to rest
  • Which workouts to do
  • What split to do

You’ll get answers to all that stuff.

Following a workout program takes a lot of the guesswork out of your training, rather than just guessing everything.

We always recommend people follow workout programs, not because we write and sell them, but also because following programs has been game changing for us.
