How To Do The Standing Dumbbell Scaption Raise Exercise Demonstration Video and Guide

The Standing Dumbbell Scaption Raise is a great corrective exercise to help strengthen the stabilizer muscles of the shoulder blade.

To get started:

  1. While standing, hold a pair of light dumbbells with a neutral palms facing in grip, in front of your thighs.
  2. Keep your arms extended while you slowly raise the dumbbells to point to 10 o’clock and 2 o’clock at the top range of the movement, to about eye level.
  3. Under control, reverse the movement to slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position.
  4. Repeat.
