The standing dumbbell twist is an excellent rotational exercise that lights up your core, especially your obliques. This will also help develop power for swinging and throwing as it’ll assist in helping your abs work synergistically with your hips and lower back during rotation.

To perform Standing Dumbbell Twist:
1. Grab a dumbbell and hold it vertically with both hands.
2. Raise the dumbbell in front of you with straight arms so it’s parallel to the floor.
3. Contract your core and twist to one side, just past your shoulders, without moving your lower body.
4. While maintaining tight abs, return back to center, then twist to the opposite side.
