On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m re-making a video that got millions of views, but was incredibly misunderstood.

What is the worst cardio for fat loss?


Well…


It’s all about the context.


Consider this scenario:
20 year old Jess was told that slow steady-state long-duration cardio was best for fat loss. 


I hit the ground running (literally) and ran on a treadmill or outdoors for 45 to 60 mins almost every day. 


If I needed a change I’d switch to the stationary bike or elliptical, but the goal was always the same: to keep going long for enough to burn the calories I ate.


This kind of cardio made me sooooo tired and super HUNGRY! 
I’d get home at the end of the night and just shovel food into my mouth.

My hunger was so strong I just couldn’t stop eating (carbs especially). 
I thought it was my fault, so I tried to have better will power. I tried to distract myself from eating. Sometimes I even went to bed hungry just ignoring my growling belly. 


It was such a struggle.

I lost weight. I hit my goal scale number. But I didn’t see the body I thought I would. 

I didn’t look toned or fit. Just a thinner version of myself but with all the same trouble zones.


Then I wondered what next? Do I have to keep this up forever?
After so many sessions of the exact same cardio workout I started to feel like I just couldn’t do it anymore.
It wasn’t worth it anymore. 


But I feared that the moment I quit, I’d gain all the weight back.
I had to find a better way. A more sustainable way.
Then I did. 


So fast forwarding to the year 2016. I had learned much better ways to cardio for fat loss. 
One day in the gym I made a YouTube video called “Worst Types of Cardio for Fat Loss for Women“. 


This video is now our most popular, with over 3.8 Million views. 
Unfortunately, by reading through the comments, you can see that some people didn’t find it helpful. 


Instead of being inspired by the “better alternatives” or setting new goals to work towards, many of the viewers focused on what they cannot currently do, and/or thought the video was only for people who are already fit.
To address those comments and reframe the point of this video, I made another video:
