Family

I’ve been helping people Live Lean 365 days a year, for over 10 years.

Actually, since I was born in 1980, 42 is my chronological age.

However, based on my Viome results, I’ve found out my biological age is different.

Is it older or is it younger?

Keep reading as I’ll share my biological age shortly.

The Missing Link Between Gut Health And Weight Loss

What Does The Viome Full Body Intelligence Test Tell You?

The Viome Full Body Intelligence Test measures the health of your:

  • Gut microbiome
  • Oral microbiome
  • Human cells

Based on these tests, you’ll receive your results in 2-3 weeks with your 8 health scores assessing your:

  1. Gut health
  2. Cellular and energy efficiency
  3. Immune system health
  4. Inflammation response
  5. Oral health
  6. Heart and metabolic health
  7. Brain and cognitive health
  8. Biological age, based on how you are aging internally

Based on your 8 health scores, you’ll then receive personalized food recommendations categorized as either:

  • Superfoods
  • Enjoy foods
  • Minimize foods
  • Avoid foods

Since everybody digests food differently, what may be a health food for most people, may not actually be good for your unique microbiome.

I was quite surprised at my food recommendations, which I’ll share shortly.

Finally, you’ll also have the option of getting custom formulated supplement recommendations based on what your body is lacking.

My Viome Full Body Intelligence Test Review

With all that out of the way, let’s dive into my Viome Full Body Intelligence Test results.

Instructions On How To Do The Viome Full Body Intelligence Tests At Home

Once I ordered the Full Body Intelligence Test online, the kit arrived on my doorstep within a few days.

There are 3 simple at home tests to be completed:

  • Stool test
  • Saliva test
  • Finger prick blood test

Everything you need to do the tests is included in the kit.

The next morning, in a fasted state, and before brushing my teeth, I completed all 3 tests.

I’ve done quite a few at home health tests like this over the years, so the process was very straightforward to me.

However, if you’re new to at home testing kits, you can simply follow the step-by-step directions included in the pamphlet or watch the quick videos.

After I was done with the tests, I simply included them in the included postage paid envelope and dropped them off the same day at UPS.

In addition to these tests, there is also a 15 minute health questionnaire to be completed inside the Viome app.

Overall, the testing portion of the service was very seamless and straight forward.

Within 2-3 weeks, I received an email that my results were ready for me inside the Viome app.

Let’s check out my exact results and nutrition recommendations based on my unique microbiome.

My Viome Full Body Intelligence Test Results

First off, you receive a lot of data from the Full Body Intelligence Test, so it can be overwhelming when you first look at it.

As mentioned, I received 8 main health scores that represent an overall assessment of key health areas that impact how I feel, look and age.

Based on the score, each main health area are rated either:

  • Good
  • Average
  • Not Optimal

These health scores determine your food and supplement recommendations.

Here are the results of my health scores ranked from highest to lowest:

  1. Immune System Health: Good (68)
    • As a comparison: a “Good” score is 59-100 which represents 20% of the Viome population
  2. Gut Health: Good (58)
    • “Good” score is 54-100 which represents 19% of the Viome population
  3. Brain And Cognitive Health: Good (40)
    • “Good” score is 37-100 which represents 11% of the Viome population
  4. Heart And Metabolic Health: Average (58)
    • “Average” score is 55-58 which represents 60% of the Viome population
  5. Inflammation Response: Average (50)
    • “Average” score is 29-51 which represents 63% of the Viome population
  6. Cellular And Energy Efficiency: Not Optimal (47)
    • “Not Optimal” score is 0-47 which represents 28% of the Viome population
  7. Oral Health: Not Optimal (52)
    • “Not Optimal” score is 0-53 which represents 15% of the Viome population
  8. Biological age: 37 vs my chronological age 42

As I mentioned earlier, I was born in 1980, so at the time of this post I am 42 years old.

This means I am biologically 5 years younger than my chronological age.

To be honest, I feel even younger than 37, but that’s awesome.

I must be doing something right.

Now lets get into the food recommendations, because that’s the really interesting part.

My Superfoods Based On My Unique Microbiome

The food recommendations listed as superfoods and enjoy foods include nutrients that support your unique microbiome health.

  • Superfoods: Unlock your food destiny. These are your most beneficial foods.
  • Enjoy Foods: Consume with pleasure. Build a strong foundation with these nutrient dense foods.

The foods listed as minimize foods and avoid foods may be harmful to your unique microbiome.

  • Minimize Foods: Proceed with caution. Limit these foods to 20% or less of your total daily intake.
  • Avoid Foods: Choose otherwise. These foods are your personal kryptonite. Do your best to avoid consumption until your next retest.

Here are my superfoods based on my unique microbiome.

First off, these food recommendations only include one ingredient whole foods.

Viome clearly includes a list of foods that everyone should avoid, including packaged and processed foods containing:

  • Sugar
  • Artificial sweeteners
  • Vegetable oils
  • Refined grains and white flour

That’s why you won’t see items like these on any of these lists.

According to Viome, the following superfoods are personalized to my tests results.

Let’s start with the superfood vegetables.

Superfood Vegetables

  1. Artichoke
  2. Arugula
  3. Enoki Mushrooms
  4. Jerusalem Artichoke
  5. Maitake Mushrooms
  6. Pumpkin
  7. Shiitake Mushrooms
  8. White Mushroom

From the looks of this, I need to start eating more mushrooms.

Superfood Fruit

  1. Apple
  2. Blackberry
  3. Blueberry
  4. Cranberry
  5. Currant
  6. Grapes
  7. Guava
  8. Kiwi
  9. Nectarine
  10. Pineapple
  11. Pomegranate
  12. Strawberry

I eat of lot of these already.

Superfood Grains And Legumes

  1. Oats
  2. Lentils

That’s interesting.

Maybe I have to start eating more oats and lentils.

Superfood Protein

  1. Clams
  2. Mussels
  3. Turkey (White Meat)

Superfood Fat

  1. Avocado
  2. Hemp Hearts

Superfood Herbs And Spices

  1. Cardamom
  2. Cinnamon
  3. Cloves
  4. Green Tea
  5. Hot Pepper
  6. Peppermint (Fresh)
  7. Sage
  8. Spearmint (Fresh)

Again, let me preface this by saying these foods are unique to me.

If you did this test, based on your unique microbiome, these foods may be on the avoid list for you.

Speaking of that, here are the foods I should avoid based on my unique microbiome.

20 Foods To Avoid Based On My Unique Microbiome

  1. Asparagus
  2. Bell Pepper
  3. Broccoli
  4. Brussels Sprouts
  5. Cabbage
  6. Crab (Pacific)

  16. Tomato
  17. Trout (Cold Water)
  18. Turmeric
  19. Turnip
  20. Watermelon

Wow!

Here’s My Game Plan Moving Forward

I’m taking all of this data with a grain of salt.

To be honest, as a 42 year old man, I feel great.

Or I guess I’m really 37 years old now, right?

Regardless, I’m more excited to incorporate more of these superfoods into my diet, while minimizing the other foods that don’t serve me.

Here’s the other great thing about the Viome Full Body Intelligence Test.

Maybe you don’t like eating broccoli, but you’ve been forcing yourself to eat it because you’ve been told it’s healthy for you.

If your test results show you should be avoiding broccoli, now you don’t have to eat it anymore, since you know it’s not good for you.

This means you can then swap in other superfood vegetables to replace it.

Since I now know spinach is an avoid food for me, and arugula is a superfood, I can now make smarter food swap decisions.

Or if you should avoid brussels sprouts, cabbage, or any other avoid food, you can swap them out for more superfoods good for your unique microbiome.

Will I Never Eat Any Of These Minimize Or Avoid Foods Again?

For me, I’ve always striving for moderation and fitting it into an overall healthy lifestyle.

Adding extra stress into my life over food is not serving me in the long run, especially when I’m 5 years younger biologically.

However, I will create a new meal plan to swap out those avoid foods and replace them with more of my superfoods and enjoy foods.

Viome actually recommends you limit those minimize foods to 20% of your daily intake.

Therefore, there still is room for me to consume some of those minimize foods.

If you’re interested in seeing those food swaps, comment below and maybe I’ll create another post specifically on how I build my new meal plan based on these food recommendations.

Hopefully You Enjoyed My Viome Full Body Intelligence Test Review And Results

I watched a few other Viome review videos, and it was interesting to see that some of my superfoods were avoid foods for those people, and my avoid foods were superfood foods to them.

It’s very interesting, and just goes to show, everybody’s body is different.
