Yesterday was truly a freaking scary day for me.

It was scarier than the day I proposed to Jessica

…or the time I hung off the 1200 foot high CN Tower.

Like, for real…yesterday I was scuuuurred.

Well after 2 years of pouring my heart and soul (and a lot of personal stories) onto the computer screen, it was finally time to man up and release it to the public.

If you’ve been a meany and have been ignoring my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat posts for the past 2 weeks…

Shame on you 😉

But seriously, I’m referring to the fear I faced in publishing my new book (and audiobook), Think And Live Lean.

Here’s What Inspired Me To Write This Book

This was the quote that inspired my life transformation.

I’ve read hundreds of thousands of words from university text books, manuals, and self-help books, but nothing has stuck with me as much as those 10 simple words. In fact, I’ve learned more from those 10 words than 4 years of university study and thousands of dollars in tuition. This simple statement has literally helped me transform my life inside and outside of the gym.

With this book, it’s my goal to teach you the steps I’ve used to change my life. You’re going to learn how to take action on them and improve in all areas of your life. I call it the Live Lean Mindset.

Let me go even deeper with this.

In 2012, when I was at my lowest of lows, both personally and professionally, I knew I needed to re-focus.

My life was a complete mess.

My wife just told me she wanted a divorce, I lost my brand new house, my personal training studio, and I was failing at my entrepreneurial business and making less than $2/hr. On top of all this, I lost connection with all my childhood friends.

I felt completely alone in the world.

But rather than consuming alcohol or drugs as a crutch, I decided to consume empowering books.

The one book in particular was Think And Grow Rich from Napoleon Hill.

I read this book back in 2008 during my initial physical transformation, but I knew it was time to get focused and read it again.

However, I didn’t just read it this time. I consumed it. I analyzed it. Most importantly, I applied it and took action on the principles.

That’s when everything changed for me both personally and professionally.

To pay homage to the book that turned my life around…

I wanted to share my intimate and personal story of how I used these principles to change my health, my business, and my personal relationships.

But more importantly, I created step-by-step action items at the end of every section showing you exactly how you can take what I learned and apply it to your life.

This book has changed my life and it will change yours

The “switch” in my life occurred once I realized I was personally responsible for the outcomes in my life.

It wasn’t the responsibility of the government, my family, my friends, or my boss.

Once I stopped blaming others, and got clear on my vision, things just started working out in my favor.

I share all of these experience in Think And Live Lean.

I Choose…

I’m always asked the question: Why?

Why do I do it?

Why do I put my body through it?

The answer?

Because I choose to…

I believe to Live Lean you first must unlock the mindset

And realize life is all about making choices.

I choose a life of abundance.

I choose to push my limits by completing one more sprint.

I choose to exhaust my muscles by finishing one more rep.

And I choose to stick to a healthy diet while others are consumed with instant gratification…

Do I do it for the attention?
Do I do it for the vanity?
Am I obsessed?

I say no.

I say I make these choices for a reason.

I believe our bodies are meant to do great things.

It doesn’t matter who you are.

You are an athlete of life.

So choose to treat your body like a temple.

Choose to feed it the best fuel to perform at your best.

I believe you get out of life what you put in to it.

So choose not to be average and not to follow the status quo.

I make choices everyday to get out of my comfort zone…

…and I’ll get up and make the same choices again tomorrow.

That’s the Live Lean Mindset.

And that’s why I’m a Live Leaner.
