12 minute Indoor Cardio Workout

It doesn’t take a bunch of time or equipment to do cardio, just a little creativity!

12 minute Indoor Cardio Workout

This workout is going to get you up and moving and having fun in only 16 total minutes, including the warm up and stretch time.

You can do this first thing in the morning in your pajamas or do it in between meetings and classes, or while your kids nap!

I’m a new mom, I just delivered our baby 3 months ago, and sometimes I can’t get out of the house to exercise. Short workouts like this help me stay consistent with my fitness which makes a big difference!

In today’s workout you’ll be using 4 bodyweight cardio moves in various interval lengths. Here are the 4 moves:

1. Mash Potato
Just like the dance move 🙂 Similar to a jumping jack but with forward backward steps instead of open & close.
2. The Heisman
Take 3 lateral steps then stop on a dime and raise one knee, alternate from right to left
3. Criss Cross Jumping Jacks.
Cross ankles and wrists, alternate the direction of the crosses.
4. Wall climbers
Similar to a mountain climber that you would do on the ground, but leaning with your hands against a wall.

For the first set of 4 minutes we’ll be doing 40 seconds of work, with 20 second break periods. Then we move into 30 seconds of work with 30 second breaks, and finally finish with 2 quick rounds of 15 seconds work, 15 seconds break.

Make sure to pace around to cool down before coming to an abrupt stop.
