Design your life to be the year of Living Lean

On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I show you how I’m planning my life goals and you can too.

I also share how I’m reflecting on my wins, and why it’s important for you to do the same thing.

I promise this is going to be the year of Living Lean.

That’s right, I want to find out what your goals are so I can help you plan and achieve them.

But before we get into that, let’s first do some reflection

Did you write down your goals?

If you didn’t, what’s up with that?

Is it because you don’t know how to set goals?

How To Set Goals And Achieve Them Faster

Don’t worry, in this post I share the types of goals I make, how I record them, and why it’s important to follow this process.

Remember, when you don’t write down your goals, and you don’t make them measurable, you will have nothing to work towards.

What I use when planning my life goals

So here is what I do when planning my life goals.

I have a notebook that I write my vision and goals for my:

  • business
  • health
  • relationships
  • finances
  • social/recreation
  • career
  • personal development

This notebook also has my gratitude list where I write down everything I’m grateful for in the morning.

It’s so important to write things down.

So get a notebook and use it for your journal.

My list of wins, achievements, and successes

I also use the notes app on my iPhone/iPad to jot down my ongoing list of wins, achievements, and successes.

I’m sure you also have a lot of big and small successes, so you should do this as well.

To give you a few ideas, let me share a few of my wins, achievements, and successes with you right now.

#1. Awaken The Abs Within published as a paperback book

In 2011, I created and sold Awaken The Abs Within as a digital ebook program.

Then in 2012, it actually got published as a paperback book that sells on Amazon.

Imagine, a paperback book, that I wrote!

I never would have imagined in a million years that that would have happened.

This achievement was huge for me.

To date, this is one of my favorite books, so if you haven’t picked it up yet, you can get the Awaken The Abs Within paperback here.

#2. My public speaking career begins

My public speaking career officially kicked off as I spoke onstage at a health and wellness show after UFC Hall of Famer, Royce Gracie.

This was a sick and incredible experience.

Since Royce Gracie was speaking before me, he had so many people already there to watch him.

Then when he finished, I walked up on stage and was like, “Hey, I’m Brad Gouthro.”.

It was awesome.

People were probably thinking, who’s this dude?.

But everyone came up to me after my speech and actually said I did better than Royce Gracie.

But don’t tell Royce Gracie that 😊.

Ok, I’ll quickly go through a few other wins and achievements.

#3. Named “1 of the Top 15 Traffic Stopping Bodies” by Bodybuilding.com

brad gouthro bodybuilding.com

Yes, I was selected as “1 of the top 15 Traffic Stopping Bodies” on Bodybuilding.com.

If you’re not familiar with Bodybuilding.com, they are probably one of the most famous and most viewed fitness and bodybuilding websites out there.

So that was a pretty big win for my modeling career.

#4. Published a Kindle ebook called How To Lose Fat And Build Lean Muscle

I published another book on Amazon, this time a Kindle ebook called How To Lose Fat And Build Lean Muscle.

If you haven’t checked that ebook out yet, go download it right on your Kindle or iPad here.

#5. Signed as a FitFluential brand ambassador

I signed on as a FitFluential brand ambassador and started working on brand deals with GNC and a few other big brands.

Multivitamin: GNC Mega Men Sport Review

Of course, I only promote and endorse products that I stand behind.

#6. Created my Live Lean TV YouTube show

Yes, I created my baby, Live Lean TV.

At the time of this video, my Live Lean TV show on YouTube was less than a year old.

I officially started branding my episodes, Live Lean TV, back in May of 2012.

The growth since then has been crazy and it’s only going to get better.

Plus, businesses started to take notice, which leads me to #7.

#7. My Live Lean TV YouTube show was signed to a 5 year online network deal

Yes, my YouTube show, Live Lean TV was signed to a 5 year online network deal.

This means you’re going to be seeing my face on Live Lean TV for at least another 5 years.

So I promise, more stuff is coming.

#8. Won the Designer Whey Master Trainer award

Back in the summer, Designer Whey, a supplement company, choose me as their Master Trainer for having the best workout video, as voted on by their fans.

Designer Whey Master Trainer Champ

I beat out a whole bunch of other workout videos from other fitness professionals.

Having my workout video chosen as the favorite was a big compliment.

#9. Launched Live Lean Afterburn

What else can I say about Live Lean Afterburn.

Live Lean Afterburn 2.0

I created and launched it, and at the time, it became my best selling day ever.

So many of you picked up this program and I’m hearing incredible feedback on it already.

If you haven’t picked up Live Lean Afterburn yet, it is the workout program to help you Live Lean.

#10. Filmed a professionally produced workout program called Live Lean Meltdown

Finally the last thing I accomplished was one of my dreams.

I filmed a follow along workout video program that’s professionally produced by a production company.

To date, Live Lean Meltdown is one of my favorite programs out there, so make sure you pick that up now.

You can pick up a copy of Live Lean Meltdown right here.

So those were 10 of my biggest accomplishments from 2012.

My big hairy and audacious goal for 2013

I also have a lot of goals for 2013.

In my planned vision, this is going to be my breakout year.

My big hairy audacious goal for 2013 is to appear on TV as a fitness expert on a major network.

So if you are, or know of any TV producers, hook me up, as I am willing to go anywhere to make this happen.

That is my big goal.

I also have goals for my:

  • Live Lean TV YouTube channel
  • Business
  • Personal life

But now I want to hear from you.

What are your fitness and health goals?

In particular, what is it that you want my help with.

What are your specific fitness and health goals?

In the comment section below, I want you to post your goals so I can have a better understanding when I start planning upcoming episodes of Live Lean TV.

  • Do you want workouts?
    • If yes, what kind of workouts?

Whatever your goals are, please write them down and review them.

If you do not, they are not as likely to happen.

This is because you will not have them in your subconscious mind.

By having your goals in your subconscious mind, it helps attract the things into your world that will help you accomplish those goals.

So go write them down, starting in the comments section below.

Remember, Live Lean TV is a collaborative approach

This includes me talking to you, you talking back to me, as well as you conversing with other people’s comments.

There are a lot of other readers making comments, so do me a favor and talk to one another.

In many cases, you probably are all be going through the same journey as one another, so help each other out.

I’ll also continue to help you out as much as possible.

Let’s focus on making this a collaborative approach and the year of Living Lean.

Of course, I’m going to help you get there, but I also need your help as well.

Thank you so much tuning in and a big thanks for helping me achieve my 2012 accomplishments.

Enjoy!

  1. Hey Brad! The team and I are brain storming some of the things we’d like to see on LLTV 2013 and this is what we’ve come up with:
    1. More tabata’s that we can do in an office setting – so don’t require ladders and other equipment. We aim to do one tabata per day as a team before we have lunch.
    2. Some short circuits, say up to 20 min, that we could also do in the lunch break, and again don’t require equipment.
    3. Ideas for quick easy lunches that we can make as a team when we have team lunch days.
We also wondered if there was a forum or space on your website where other live leaners can chat to each other as you suggest?
Otherwise just keep up the great work! And thanks for motivating me and my team 🙂

  2. 40p/40c/20f has worked for me in the past…but i know follow a more 40p/20c/40f as it has really helped curb cravings and tighten up further.

  3. I agree with what @sreenisatish said. your glycogen storage is limited. anything over and over can be stored as fat. just like any calorie.

  4. Congratulations on a great year Brad, look forward to more live lean TV, would be great to see more healthy snack options, and meals that are easy to take to work, my latest vlog details my new year resolutions and goals

  5. also i have really enjoyed your channel since discovering it about a month or so ago – glad to hear that i can look forward to it for many more years. CONGRATULATIONS ON 2012 :))) and 2013 will be bigger and better!

  6. hi brad what about how to get to doing 100 pushups in a row for a girl? on toes.
I would also like to work on doing unassisted pull ups, unassisted chin ups, and 100 burpees (the one with a pushup) at the end.

  7. Some basic examples of healthy, finance friendly snack foods, on the go foods, and meals would be much appreciated! I’m trying to find meals that my mother will love as well, and so far she only likes spaghetti squash and your turkey burgers. Healthy food isn’t valued much where I live, so I’m always trying to find new health foods and recipes wherever I can find them. Any tips you provide are always appreciated though. Congrats on the accomplishments. I wish you luck in the coming year.

  8. Anything in excess – i.e. what the body does not require for its functions at that point, will finally be stored as fat. Yes, even excess protein will be stored as fat. There are fats that are metabolized for energy and there are fats that are stored. Try to stick to natural and pure fats like almonds, avocados etc.

  9. wow congrats on your accomplishments in 2012 and hope your goals for 2013 come true! my goal for this year is to get a 4 pack. I lost 30 pounds last year, now its time to tone up. I would like to see videos of how to attain a tone body. Also, see videos of how to make a quick meal on the go since im a full time student and have a full time job. thanks.

  10. wowww That is sick….love it, love it….
Brad sugestion if you can give us a video for people that need to lose more than 100 pounds..Big thing for me 🙁 weight is not just carry this horrible mass is pain to make every move. So my goal will be for this year lose 5 pounds per month. Thanks for any reply.

  11. @bradgouthro it would be awesome if you could do a video on the basics and getting started to make a transformation of eating healthy and getting fit

  12. Develop my yoga positions, recover from Anorexia, drink only water (so no soft drink, diet drinks, etc), become more flexible, eat clean more consistently and eat treats in moderation.

  13. YOU’RE A BOSS BRAD ! Congrats on your accomplishments and I hope you do well on your future goals as well. I will succeed in my goals because of your awesome videos 🙂 THANKS!!!
