Protein Ice Cream Blizzard Recipe
Instructions
  1. In a blender, add 1 cup of coconut milk from a carton, 1 frozen banana, 1 serving of vanilla protein powder, 1 tbsp of chia seeds, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, and 1 tsp of a lemon flavored fish oil. Blend it up.
  2. While it's blending, add 1/2 cup of frozen blueberries to a serving bowl, while keeping the other 1/2 cup of blueberries in a separate bowl.
  3. Pour the blended mixture over top of the 1/2 cup of blueberries in the serving bowl.
  4. Next, you're going to add the other half a cup of blueberries right on top of the mixture. Since the blueberries are frozen, they will help thicken up the mixture and turn it into some delicious ice cream.
  5. Add 2 tbsp of the unsweetened shredded coconut and the other 1/2 tsp dash of cinnamon over top of the mixture.
  6. For the last step, I like to take the spoon that I'm going to be eating with, and scoop out a tbsp of almond butter, and mix it into the ice cream mixture.
  7. Set the mixture aside for 2 minutes to allow the frozen blueberries to help solidify the liquid.
  8. Enjoy.

  1. This recipe is perfect for me! I’ve been eating very clean with basic 1
ingredient whole foods for about 2 weeks now, and honestly the one food
I’ve been craving is DQ BLIZZARDS! So thank you so much! You made me smile
big when I saw this recipe:)

  2. Well, great. Now I have an excuse for eating a gallon of ice cream during
one of my fits of manic depression.

  3. Hi! Have you tried – Timeout Paleo Recipe Book (just google it)? Ive heard
some incredible things about it and my cooworker got amazing fat loss with
    it.

  4. Hey brad!! Could you please do a video on protein powder? I’m really
confused to what I should be looking for when purchasing one. Why should I
have whey over plant based.. what ingredients should I look for and also
the nutrition values. This would be such a great help… thank you so much
    🙂 x

  5. Brad! Thank you for this recipe. Im sure I could use chunky peanut butter
    versus the almond butter correct?

  6. Subbed! Nice Video!
If I dont like the taste of cocnut milk and cinnamon. What product can i
use to substitute those? (also almond butter, its a bit hard to find in my
    country). Thanks!

  7. Hi brad thanks for the recipe! What protein powder did you use? I’m always
in search of a good protein powder . whey doesn’t sit well with my
stomache. I’ve been using a soy based protein powder from vitamin world.

  8. You nailed it! This is on my weekend menu! Thanks. I have been eating
frozen bananas/fruits with nut butters but never thought to do it quite
    this way. Great idea!

  9. awesome recipe, Brad…I like to snack on dairy at night so what I do is take some Fage 0% greek yogurt, whip up some vanilla protein powder just for flavor, throw some raisins or fresh berries in, add some almond butter, and put it in the freezer for a half hour. Plain yogurt does not freeze well, that’s why even organic stuff has guar gum or something in it to stabilize while frozen, so you can’t freeze it for too long…but that’s my nonfat version of your recipe minus the banana…gonna have to try yours next time!

  10. voted for you! you definitely deserve to win brad, you’re the awesomest!
and this looks super good as well! what’s the best tasting vanilla protein
    powder that you recommend?

  11. I kove these videos, I’m trying to live lean but I have to say.. when you
come in Italy and you taste REAL ice cream….you remain enchanted! Anyway,
I think one ice cream a month, or two a month doesn’t really affect the
diet if you really live lean 😉
And of course I’m not speaking of fast food ice creams or ready to eat
    things..

  12. wow welcome to the group of the other 200 videos using essentially the same
recipe for healthy ice cream on youtube…

    1. Joseph do you eat nonfat greek yogurt? Try that instead of coconut milk as the base. It’s pretty much nonfat whey protein as pure as nature allows lol. I’m sure on the nut butter side you can substitute whatever type you want, just make sure it’s natural with no added junk.
