A Day In The Life Of Living Lean (Part 1 Of 2)

Come Hang Out With Me For The Day

On today’s episode of Live Lean TV, I’m taking you along to show you a day in the life of Living Lean, vlog style.

You have been asking me to do this for a long time, and I finally got around to shooting it.

Welcome To A Day In The Life Of Living Lean

Even though seeing me wake up at 6:04 am in the morning, may not be the prettiest thing, it does provide you with some insight into my mentality and lifestyle habits that I use to Live Lean.

Since I do a lot in a day, the cameras, were rolling for a long time.

But when I say “cameras”, let’s be serious, it was my iPhone.

In order to make this work, I had to separate the filming of this day in the life video into 2 parts.

Click here to see part 2 of 2.

During your time with me, I’ll be showing you the following:

A Day In The Life – Part 1:

Let’s get into it.

6:04 am:

Good morning.

When you wake up with a dog by your side, you probably don’t even need an alarm clock.

Now, you may be wondering why I’m telling you this while I’m laying in bed?

Well, today I’m taking you with me on a day in the life journey.

6:06 am:

If you been following me for a while, you probably know the first thing that I do every morning is drink lemon water.

28 DAY LEMON WATER CHALLENGE | Lemon Water Benefits | How To Make Lemon Water

I simply squeeze the juice of one lemon into a glass, then top it with warm water that is heated up in a teapot.

Or, if you have access to clean water, you can use warm water from the tap.

It’s the perfect way to start the day right.

6:16 am

Once I finish drinking the lemon water, I add my favorite tasting greens powder supplement to a shaker cup with water, to make a quick greens drink.

You can also blend up your greens drink in your Vitamix.

I did a video post called, How To Eat More Vegetables When You Don’t Like Them, where I shared why this greens drink helps vitalize and energize me for the day.

Once the greens powder is together with the water, I chug it down.

Side note: if I use a blender, I usually drink my greens drink directly out of it to save on dishes and time, just like a bachelor would do.

6:26 am

After drinking my greens drink, it’s time throw some clothes on and take my dog out for a walk.

As you can see in the video, I had a lot of kitchen items on the floor in my kitchen.

Even though I am a clean person, I was in the process of moving.

So all of the kitchen items on the floor were for sale.

Also it’s funny that even though my condo building only has 3 floors, it still has an elevator.

Since I live on the 2nd floor, we always walk past the elevator, and take the stairs.

That’s how you Live Lean.

6:32 am

During my morning dog walk, I use that time to clear my head and get my mind right for the day.

A Day In The Life Of Living Lean (Part 1 Of 2)

I love going for walks through high end neighborhoods because the people that live there are usually doing something right, or possibly something illegal.

It’s just good motivation for me in the morning to see homes, with big water fountains and swimming pools, that look like the Entourage crew lives there.

Being around successful, like-minded people, is always a good thing.

Just like they say 5 people you hang out with, you either live up or live down to their standards.

The people’s standards in this neighborhood is alright by me.

7:02 am

Once I get home from my morning walk, I feed my dog.

Since Labrador Retrievers are known for having bad joints, I also include a glucosamine pill in his breakfast of champs, to help him stay strong.

However, I don’t just let him devour the food.

I first work on some dog training, by making him sit and wait until I give him the command to release.

Smart dog.

7:04 am

After I feed my dog, it’s time to get my grub on for breakfast.

Since my fridge was pretty empty, I’ll have to go grocery shopping later.

But that’s a good thing because it means I’ll show you what food I buy at the grocery store, in the next video post.

Plus, this gives me the chance to talk about how simple it is to grab certain foods from your fridge, and make a meal, even when your fridge is pretty empty.

Alright, since it’s breakfast time, that means it’s time to make a meat and nuts breakfast.

How To Make A Meat And Nuts Breakfast Recipe

Let’s do this.

Here’s why making a meat and nuts style breakfast is so simple

All you have to do is pick certain things from you fridge such as:

I usually buy ground beef from Costco since it’s organic and affordable.

Paleo Grocery Haul From Costco

To make the meat and nuts breakfast, all you need to do is cook the ground beef in a frying pan, then add some vegetables such as broccoli, zucchini, onion.

Then you’re good to go.

I also had some leftover cauliflower mash that was incredibly delicious.

Although I love potatoes, if you’re trying to lose weight, substituting cauliflower mash for potatoes is a healthy calorie and carbohydrate saving food swap.

Lastly, I add some nuts to the plate.

The meat and nuts breakfast will help you Live Lean because it:

  • is easy to prepare
  • is delicious
  • keeps you full
  • helps you build muscle
  • helps you burn fat

That is how you put together a healthy meat and nuts breakfast, in just 8 minutes, when you don’t have a recipe.

7:12 am

Add the meat and vegetable mixture to a plate, alongside some nuts, for more healthy fats.

The meat and nuts breakfast with a side of cauliflower mash is breakfast done right.

Sorry Tony the Tiger.

We don’t roll with you when we’re Living Lean.

Boom, let’s eat.

The other great thing is having all these leftovers.

That is key.

Make your meals in bulk, then package it up in glass storage containers, then you have food for other meals in the day.

3 Delicious High Protein Recipes to Cook in Bulk

Although I usually don’t like eating the same meals within the same day, I can eat this again for breakfast tomorrow, or switch it up and have it for lunch.

Again, always cook your meals in bulk.

7:14 am

As an entrepreneur, I need to multitask.

While I’m eating my breakfast, I usually go into my office, which is my bedroom.

Yes, I live in a small apartment.

So I’ll sit down and go on the computer and work, while I eat my food.

This is usually when my dog goes back to sleep in the closet.

By the way, here’s a tip, if you have a dog, don’t buy a white bedspread.

Even though I’m in the process of donating a bunch of clothes, if you want to checkout what clothes I still have in my walk in closet, click here.

Sure my office may be in my bedroom, but it has one of the best views of an incredible aqua blue lake.

I also have a really amazing deck where I sometimes go out to work.

I know it may not be like working in an office in a tall skyscraper building, but for now, I’m proud to call this Live Lean TV headquarters.

8:48 Answering Viewer Questions

So as I eat my awesome breakfast, I like to answer questions from the comments on my YouTube videos.

Here’s a question from my video titled, “What Does Tempo Mean In Weight Training?”.

Following correct workout tempos is one of the best muscle building workouts tips that so many men and women ignore.

This following comment came Yanti0128: “Just learned this on my ACE personal training course last week.”

Awesome job to Yanti, for studying towards their personal training certification.

If you haven’t watched that video yet, go watch it here.

what does tempo mean in working out

I’ll go answer a few more questions while I eat my breakfast, then I’ll get in the shower before my first meeting.

Today’s first meeting is with one of the brands that I’m a spokesperson for.

We’re going to talk about a big upcoming project with them.

After that I’ll go to the gym and possible the track.

Then later, I’ll be going to the grocery store.

It’s going to be a good day.

I have to put that plug in there because these programs pay my bills 😊.

7:25 am

One of the pains of eating clean and cooking your food is the dirty dishes.

Who wants to come over and help me clean up?

You know you want to.

8:28 am

Now I’m heading down to my underground basement parking to head out to my first meeting of the day.

I’ll show you all of that in part 2 of this Day In The Life Of Living Lean series.

A Day Of Living Lean Part 2

A Day In The Life – Part 2 Includes:

  • All the food I ate for the rest of the day
  • How I prepare my food so it’s always ready

  1. Hey Brad. I ‘discovered’ you a few days ago and follow you now. Great host
and all you say make sense. I am trying to convince myself and encourage
myself to get leaner and also to start working out and swimming. I just
moved apartment and since I am now a huge fan of yours I wondered if you
could do me a huge favour: sending me a signed photo for my new apartment.
You would really do me a huge favour!!!! If yes I can give you my home
address in England. Keep up the good work! A huge fan from the UK, Patrick

  2. Okay, it’s official, I’m a fan, and I think I love you. Thanks for these vids Brad! They’re so eye opening!

  6. hey brad. Ive been starting to eat clean recently but afterwards i feel sick. i feel like i need sugar in my body. could this be junk food withdrawal symptoms? any ideas? tips?

  7. I love the vids brad. Good info every time. Got to try that lemon water in the am and I have a lemon tree that I don’t even use lol. Does it do anything to you that you’ve notice ??

  8. @StratiuZGFX when i first started, i tracked, calculated, and weighed everything…i did this for years…with all this experience i can now eyeball everything and be pretty bang on with my macros

  9. the problem with vegan protein sources (even if you combine foods to make a complete protein) are they don’t contain OPTIMAL amino acid profiles like animal proteins do. Just try to focus on eating a vegan protein source and a healthy fat, and keep carbs low for breakfast. It’s not optimal but it is better than boxed cereal!

  10. if you just take a scoop out the pan and splat it on the plate, how can you tell how many macro’s your eating?? dafuq, how can you be sure. don’t you like weigh it all out and then cook it all, take like 1/4 of it and then plate it (macro’s should be like 1/4 of the macro’s for the whole thing) O_O so confused!

  11. Why do you pan fry your food? As a fellow health enthusiast, I would recommend RAW>STEAMING>PRESSURECOOKING>BOILING>FRYING>DEEPFRYING. You can lose so much minerals and vitamins when you cook; it’s better to steam.

    Your thoughts?

  12. Can I just say you get points for your dogs name being peyton.. go vols!! Lol I like these kinds of videos btw

  13. Awesome work Brad. Your videos have really changed my lifestyle. Thx for inviting us viewers into your home. I personally can finally take lots of tips from this larger vid. Looking forward to no. 2 😉
