After reviewing and signing the Live Lean Vow you are now committed to the Live Lean Nation and that includes incorporating and enjoying healthy sources of fat into your daily diet.
More and more science is showing that eating healthy sources of fat won’t make you fat.
Healthy fat is very filling.
Therefore you’ll be snacking less on sugary foods and limiting your cravings.
Dietary fat is also essential for your body’s hormones, especially testosterone production gentlemen, and it’s very heart healthy. Yes, heart healthy.
Natural sources of saturated fat found in egg yolks and grass fed beef are not bad for your cholesterol and heart. It’ll actually help!
However, all fat is not created equal.
I classify unhealthy fat as those foods high in man made trans fat like those found in refined and processed baked goods like cookies, cakes, pies, and deep fried fast foods.
Here’s more info on Trans fat.
So without further ado, lets jump into…
8 Fatty Foods That Make You Lean:
Avocado is full of monounsaturated hormone friendly fats to keep you feeling full and healthy.
People don’t realize just how versatile avocados are.
They’re one of the creamiest and most delicious foods around.
Use them as your spread of choice, add them to your thick and creamy smoothies and use them on top of your salads.
They’ll help squash your sugary cravings and help you awaken your abs within.
#2. Beef (Grass Fed)
As I mentioned earlier, in the past red meat such as beef has wrongfully been accused of being a main cause of bad cholesterol and heart disease risk.
Unfortunately, these years of poor research has made it hard for the truth to hit the mainstream.
Grass fed beef is high in heart and brain healthy omega 3 fats as well as muscle building and fat incinerating protein.
Always invest in grass fed beef vs conventional grain fed beef as the healthy fat is worth the extra investment.
I have organic grass fed beef most mornings in my meat and nuts breakfast.
#3. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is high in MCTs which provides the body with instant energy to crush your next workout.
In other words these calories are burned for energy rather than stored as fat.
Coconut oil is my preferred oil for cooking over higher heat and I also add it to my morning coffee and even use it to make my own homemade deodorant.
I also sprinkle coconut flakes on salads and fruit bowls.
#4. Dark Chocolate
I thought you’d like this one.
But make sure you aim for dark chocolate that contains 70+% of cocoa.
Mars bars do not apply.
Not only is the cocoa filled with antioxidants, it’ll also help keep you fuller longer, as it takes longer to digest, thus reducing the risk of smashing that bag of potato chips.
But be smart. Break off 2-3 squares of dark chocolate, enjoy, and put it back in the fridge.
Eggs are fast, healthy, and an excellent source of protein and healthy fat.
But make sure you eat the yolk.
In fact, 90% of the nutrients are found in the yolk.
And all the latest research points to the fact that the saturated fat is healthy and helps slim your waistline by keeping you full
Eat nuts to lose fat.
Nuts are one of the best sources of quick on the go snacks.
Like the other sources of fat mentioned, nuts are filled with waistline trimming fats due to their ability to slow digestion, balance blood sugar levels, and keep you feeling satiated and full longer.
These two things will ultimately lead you down the road of losing your belly fat and unleashing those sexy abs!
#7. Olive Oil
Olive oil is an excellent source of heart healthy monounsaturated fats.
It also has been shown to help increase the production of specific hormones in the body that help break down fats in the body more efficiently.
I use olive oil as the main ingredient in all my homemade salad dressings.
#8. Salmon (and other Cold Water Fish)
Salmon and other cold water fish like mackerel and tuna contain healthy sources of omega 3 fats, protein and a whole lot of hunger satiating deliciousness.
Perfect belly fat blasting combo.
