It’s definitely possible to workout as a new mom, but there are some things you should know.
3 Fitness Tips for New Moms
These 3 tips have helped me continue to workout & stay fit after having my baby.
No doubt about it, your fitness-life will change once you have kids. But that doesn’t mean it’s over!
Change is not a bad thing, it’s simply change. Embrace your new life and get creative with ways to make your fitness work.
Here are my 3 tips and strategies that I use every day to get my workouts in.
1) Feed baby immediately before your workout time. Whether you’re working out together or not, it’s a good idea for you to eat about 2 hours before, then feed your baby immediately before. Your little one will be in a much better mood if recently fed and may even fall asleep, helping you focus on your workout.
2) Become workout buddies with your baby. Stop thinking that the only way you can workout is alone.. there are for sure certain things that you CANNOT do with baby, but there’s a whole lot that you can do. Start doing home and outdoor workouts, using moves that are safe for both of you. If you’re not sure what moves are safe for mom and baby, follow my program Live Lean Mom
3) Shorten your workout duration. If you expect to get a full hour’s workout time in each day you’ll set yourself up for disappointment. Aim for 15-20 minutes per day, stay focused during that time, and you’ll be surprised at how much you can accomplish.
